NUSS Tennis Section

Established since 1986, the NUSS Tennis Section is affiliated to the Singapore Tennis Association (STA) and organises both competitive and social games for its members. All Tennis Section Games are held at the rooftop tennis courts at Kent Ridge Guild House three times a week. Section fees apply at $40 per year*.

Objectives

  • To promote the playing and development of Tennis in the Society
  • To create tennis programmes and provide expertise for enhancing recreational and competitive tennis levels for the individual and team players
  • To provide an avenue for players to participate enthusiastically in recreational tennis
  • To provide an avenue for players to compete positively in internal and external tournaments/events
  • To advise the Society on the management of tennis matters

Achievements

There are 4 to 5 competitive teams for men that participate in the B, C and D divisions in both STA Singles and Doubles tournaments. For the Ladies, we have up to 3 teams that participate in the A and B division.

Our past achievements and more recent ones include :

  • STA Inter-club Men's Single Grade D Runner-up
  • STA Inter-club Ladies' Double Grade B Champion
  • Winner in TANS game
  • Winner and 1st Runner-up at AIS Tennis Carnival
  • STA Inter-club Doubles League Men's Grade C Runner-up
  • Winner and runner up at the AIS tennis carnival
  • Section of the Year Award 2018
  • STA Inter-club Singles League Men's Grade C Champion
  • STA Inter-club Doubles Knockout Chan Cup Champion
  • STA Inter-club Singles League Men's Grade C Runner-up
  • STA Inter-club Doubles Knockout Chan Cup Champion
  • STA Inter-club Singles League Men's Grade D Runner-up
  • STA Inter-club Doubles League Men's Grade D Runner-up
  • STA Inter-club Singles League Men's Grade D Champion

Section Nights

The Section games schedule at Kent Ridge Guild House are as follows:

  • Wednesdays from 6pm to 10pm (Courts 1 to 3)
  • Fridays from 6pm to 10pm (Courts 1 to 3)
  • Sundays from 3pm to 7pm (Courts 1 to 3) and 3pm to 8pm (Courts 1 and 2)
All sessions will be in the Fast 4 format.
