The Qipao Dress sewing workshop is an interactive drafting and sewing programme in which learners will understand pattern making and cutting techniques as well as sewing skills. At the end of the programme, students will have sewn their own Qipao Dress from beginning to end. This course is ideal for those who are beginners or wish to brush up on their sewing or pattern making skills.
Course Outline
- Learn how to take specific body measurements or standard measurements to make a Modern Qipao Dress
- Understand how to draft a simple semi-fitting Qipao Dress according to personal measurements or standard measurements
- Understand how to the sew darts
- Understand how to sew neckline finishing using bias binding or pipping techniques
Trainer Profile
Mr Wang is a skilled dressmaker with extensive experience in both crafting bespoke garments and teaching the art of dressmaking. His expertise spans a wide range of styles, catering to clients with diverse needs and preferences. Trained at prestigious fashion institutions both locally and internationally, including in Tokyo, Mr Wang brings a wealth of knowledge to his work. His talent has been recognised through numerous accolades, including being a finalist at the 13th and 14th Onward New Designer Grand Prix, solidifying his reputation as a distinguished figure in the fashion industry.
